Install Tadapop on Android

Tadapop is on Google Play. That is the way in for almost everyone: it installs like any other app, updates itself, and skips the unknown-source warning entirely.

If you can't use Google Play

Some devices ship without the Play Store. For those there is a direct .apk — currently v1.4.8, while Google Play is on v1.4.10 — this file is refreshed by hand and sometimes lags a release behind. Everything works the same — but nothing updates itself, so you have to come back here for each new version. If Play is an option, use Play.

What's new in this build

The Arena has a name that says what it is, and the templates are yours to write.

The Arena is now the Check-in Club

• The third tab reads CLUB. Same feature, same challenges, same people — "arena" was telling nobody anything.
• CREATE CHALLENGE starts one; I HAVE A JOIN CODE gets you into somebody else's.

Templates are yours

• Write your own, edit them, and swipe left to delete.
• Clear out every built-in in one tap if none of them fit the way you live.
• ADD puts a template on Today, where you can still change it before it counts.

Fixed

• A failed load no longer says you have no challenges. Lose the network while the club list is loading and the screen used to claim the list was empty — which reads exactly like losing everything. It keeps what it had now.
• Sharing and export actually leave the phone. A data export now goes out through Android's own share sheet.
• Only Google sign-in is offered. The Apple button was being drawn on a platform that cannot use it.

How to install the APK

1. Tap Download the APK instead above and open the downloaded .apk file.
2. If Android warns about an unknown source, tap Settings → enable Allow from this source, then go back.
3. Tap Install, then open Tadapop from your app drawer.

Already have an older sideloaded build? This installs straight over it — no need to uninstall first, and your missions stay put.

Good to know

• Android only. This is an .apk — it can't be installed on an iPhone.
• Solo tracking needs no account. An account (a quick email code) is only needed for the Club.
• Opening an invite link? On Android it lands on a web page first — tap Open in Tadapop there to jump into the app.
• Installed the APK before? Play won't recognise it as the same app — uninstall the sideloaded copy first if you want Play to handle updates from now on. Signed-in Club data comes back when you sign in; solo data on that device does not.
